We are finishing up our work on Wreck D. Hercules has been working on excavating a portion of the cargo area and tonight we loaded four amphorae into our elevators. We are using a high-precision acoustic navigation system to map the wreck site using multibeam sonar, subbottom profiling, and electronic photography.

Once complete, we will sample the sediment from the site using push cores and box cores deployed from the ROV. At dawn, we will recover the elevators and sample the sediment from inside the amphorae, all of which are being prepared for the Sinop Archaeology Museum. Following that work, we plan to collected some oceanographic data and samples on our return to Istanbul.
