Dr. Tristan Barako

Tristan Barako received his doctorate from Harvard University's Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations in 2001. He has published articles on topics related to his dissertation, entitled "The Seaborne Migration of the Philistines," in the American Journal of Archaeology (2000) and Biblical Archaeology Review (2003). Since graduating he has lectured at Boston University and Salem State College in courses concerning the history and archaeology of the ancient Near East. He has also held a Shelby White-Leon Levy Program for Archaeological Publications Grant to publish the excavations at Tel Mor, a Late Bronze Age (ca. 1500-1100 BCE) Egyptian outpost in southern coastal Canaan (modern day Israel).
