Expedition Role: Doug Weaver is a fish biologist and GIS specialist at the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary. GIS stands for Geographic Information System. It’s a computer system that helps to display data in a visual way. Before the expedition, Weaver used GIS software to prepare detailed maps of the expedition area. He will be helping with all of the biology goals of the expedition.
