Expedition Role: Mike Hollenbach is the Engineer Officer of the NR-1. During the expedition, he will help to operate and maintain the NR-1’s nuclear reactor. Energy from the reactor is used to power the sub and drive it through the water. Hollenbach also organizes and trains the crew members who work in the engineering department of the sub. He helps to steer the NR-1 as well.
